The Mobile Mapping system allows dynamic detection of georeferenced 2D-3D metric data with high levels of resolution and accuracy. In ETS we interpret Mobile Mapping in an innovative way, implementing a combination of tools and procedures that permit us to extend the field of application of the dynamic survey methodology to different sectors: rail, road, sea, river.
Maintenance and innovation of transport infrastructures are key issues for a responsible development of a modern society. With a view to supporting the Network Managers in their activities, ETS has implemented a system which operates on rail and road and allows us to carry out different types of surveys functional to the strategic planning of interventions, optimizing costs, time and resources.
Fast and accurate surveys of large portions of territory are carried out thanks to the LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) advanced remote sensing technique. The survey is executed by aerial means with a laser scanner, which produces a set of points associated with spatial coordinates, from which we obtain a digital model of the surveyed area. This technique is essential for detailed analysis of the territory even in areas of difficult access, in order to obtain an extremely significant output, preparatory to the subsequent design phase.
Bathymetric surveys are required whenever a detailed analyses of the morphology of the sea, river and lake bed level is to be carried out. These activities support the design of new projects, monitoring of existing works and preparatory measures aimed at coastal defence. In ETS we dispose of a M.B.E.S. sensor (Multi Beam Eco Sounding) combined with a Mobile System, which enables us to obtain a georeferenced cloud of points of the examined and submerged portion of the environment.
